1: DO IT FOR THE GRAM.... LITERALLY:
This step is a no-brainer, but so many people fail to post consistently and fail to create content that captures people’s attention. Plan ahead of time and outline your posts using a visual organizer app. Keep your captions ready at hand in a Google Doc or even in the notes app on your phone. Post at least 3 times per week on your Instagram feed and analyze your feed to see when your followers are most active. Tag relevant places, hashtag relevant topics and start shining on social media. Do it for the gram!
2: TELL YOUR STORY ON INSTAGRAM STORIES:
Just like you need to be active on your feed, you need to be posting stories… DAILY! How many minutes per day do you mindlessly tap through Instagram stories? … Probably more than you’d like to admit, right? It’s ok – we do too! If you start posting on stories 2-3 times per day, we guarantee you will start seeing your engagement grow. People are interested in what you are doing and what you have to say! Even if you just repost a motivational quote at first, get something posted!
3: CREATE AND POST CONTENT THAT IS MEANT TO BE RE-SHARED:
While your main focus is content that might help advertise or promote your products/services, think about posting content that other people might like to share as well! People love to share a good quote, stat or infographic. Make a creative graphic and feel free to add your username in a small font at the bottom. If people decide to share your post to their story, repost you on their feed or embed your post on their blog, you'll be exposed to a whole new set of potential followers.
4: ENGAGE WITH HASHTAGS:
Hashtags might not seem like much of a priority at first, but they still remain to be one of the most important aspects of promoting your Instagram. If you are a brand or company, you need to be spending AT LEAST 10 minutes per day engaging with relevant hashtags. The more you support others, the more support you will receive! For example, if you are a realtor in Atlanta, Georgia search #atlantarealestate in your Instagram search bar and like and/or comment on the 50 most recent posts in that feed. That should take 5-10 minutes! Then broaden your search and do the same thing with hashtags such as #atlanta. It can be as simple as “Great post!” when commenting on others photos. Using and engaging with relevant hashtags is one of the most effective ways to get discovered by new, significant audiences on Instagram. The more you engage, the more followers you will get, which translates into more customers for your business. Increase your brand awareness by engaging with hashtags!
